- Applicants must not have failed any of the key subjects (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, or English) in their final year of high school for the foundation year track.
- Proof of English language proficiency (for the foundation year) — exact test scores may vary; internal assessment may be used.
- No separate entrance exam for the foundation year portion (for certain tracks) — the requirement for an entrance exam is waived for the foundation year segment.

Required Documents for Application
- Applicants must have completed secondary education (high school diploma or equivalent).
- Applicants must have no failed grades in the final year of high school in the subjects of Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics or English.
- A compulsory entrance examination (for international English-language programme) which includes at least: written tests in Biology, Chemistry (or Physics) and English/biomedical English; sometimes an oral interview.
- English language competence (written and oral) required since the programme is delivered in English.
- Age requirement: Applicants must be 18 or older by 31 December in the year of application.
Admission requirements
- Completed online application form through SZTE’s portal.
- Copy of valid passport (photo page).
- High school leaving certificate / diploma and official transcript of grades, translated into English or Hungarian if required.
- Proof of English proficiency (if needed) — certificate, or via documentation of English-taught schooling.
- Motivation letter / personal statement (often required for international applicants) and CV for some applicants.
- Medical certificate of good health (in many cases) and passport-style photograph
Entrace Exam
- Written Exam
- Conducted online or on-site (depending on applicant location).
- Duration: 2 hours
- Subjects tested:
- Biology
- Chemistry (or Physics — applicant can choose one)
- General English and Medical English
- Each subject includes multiple-choice questions and short written answers.
The test focuses on topics covered in standard high-school level textbooks. - Oral interview
- Conducted online (Zoom) after the written test.
- Duration: ~15–20 minutes
- Evaluates:
- Motivation to study medicine
- Communication skills in English
- Understanding of basic scientific concepts (biology, chemistry)
- General knowledge about medical studies and healthcare
